We played a game that would put us to the test!
After being divided into groups of five, two members from each group were asked to represent their team. It was then revealed that we would be doing the Paper Holding Activity wherein two members of each team would have to hold up as many pieces of paper as possible between their bodies, while the rest of their teammates would have to assist in the strategizing.
This seemed easy, and we were ready to jump in and strategize, but there were some rules that would make this activity just a wee bit more challenging. These rules include:
With these in mind, the teams immediately went off to discuss their plan of action. This is where the importance of brainstorming came in. A brainstorming session requires a lot of teamwork and collaboration, and this activity was definitely able to bring out these qualities from within us.
The activity was also a test of strategy, endurance, communication, and most of all, chemistry between team members. What’s great is that we were also able to practice the important habits of clarifying instructions and asking questions, so that we’d be able to ensure that our efforts will not go to waste.
Soon, one group emerged victorious, further proving that in order to succeed, teams must have rapport, chemistry, collaboration, and lastly, a common goal.
How about you? What do you think makes up a successful team?
