Scout Creative Talks 2018
The Scout Creatives Talk 2018, held on October 6, 2018 at the Samsung Hall in SM Aura, Taguig was truly an insightful and enriching experience for myself, as well as my colleagues, Drinne, Riza, and Clare. Furthermore, this event was my first ever work-sponsored out-of-office workshop (six months later!) so I spent the weeks leading to the event full of wonder and excitement. I’ve heard stories about the bonding and experiences that usually take place at such events, and I was looking forward to no longer missing out on all the fun!
The event was set to start pretty early, so the girls and I decided to meet up at a reasonable (but still acceptable) time. This was a Saturday, so I wouldn’t normally be up before 10, but as you’ve probably gathered, I was pretty pumped to be attending this event. And so, with little sleep and a whole lot of enthusiasm, I spent my Saturday at the Samsung Hall (with really amazing seats!!!) to bask in all the inspiration and knowledge.

After listening to speakers like BJ Pascual (Photography), Mike Navallo (Journalism), Federico Fanti (Branding), Punziella (Illustration and Design), Tisha Ramirez (Women in Media), Raya Martin (Film), and Kim Jones (Fashion) talk about their passion, career, and philosophies, it is very much safe to say that Scout Magazine fulfilled its mission to inform and inspire today’s young creatives. And the best part was that it didn’t matter what field one came from. Each and every one in that room was merely a creative gaining or sharing knowledge and wisdom with like-minded people.
For Drinne, Riza, Clare, and I, hearing industry professionals who excel in their respective fields talk about the challenges they’ve had to overcome has made us realize how lucky we are to have supportive families, and even more, to be working at a company which advocates for the personal and career growth of its employees.

Inspired by the knowledge and beliefs imparted to us by the speakers of Scout Creative Talks, we have come up with a list of which nuggets of wisdom struck us the most:
All in all, there was nothing else I could ask for. This event pretty much put a check mark on everything I’ve been looking forward to, and I could say that the lack of sleep was definitely worth it!
